Spring Cleaning Checklist

Spring cleaning used to be an absolute necessity. When heating and cooking over wood burning fires inside the home, the change in weather necessitated a thorough cleaning to rid your house of dust and soot. Fortunately, this is no longer the case.  Spring cleaning has instead progressed to a few necessary tasks that create an excuse for us to clean up, de-clutter and refresh our homes from inside out!
The transition from winter to spring has us cleaning the oven after it has worked so hard for us during the holidays, or replacing air filters to get ready for an air conditioned summer. It's also a great time to sort through magazines, clothing and donate anything you no longer need. Cleaning and de-cluttering at the same time can make you feel lighter, calmer and happier.

We've compiled some chores and clean-ups we feel are essential as your house gets ready for the warm months. Remember, any spring cleaning list can seem intimidating at first, but don’t become discouraged! Be sure to set aside at least a week to knock out everything on the list. Plan out your weekend cleaning routines, and encourage the entire family to participate by buy all supplies ahead of time, splitting up chores, and having snacks ready for when everyone needs a break. Rewards for the family, and for yourself are never a bad idea!
