1. The Hoarder

Who wants the rest of the pie? He does. Who wants the rest of the stuffing? no surprise there. We all love sending guests home with a plate or two full of food but you'll want to avoid inviting the hoarder who wants to clean you out and take home everything.

2. The Political Obsess-ie

Everyone says to avoid certain taboo subjects when seated around a holiday dinner table.  You can talk about politics and religion, but don't spend too much time on it.  Avoid inviting that guy/girl who just can't seem to discuss anything but super controversial political subjects.

3. The Boaster

No one likes someone who only knows how to talk about themselves.

4. The Cookbook Author

While having a top chef at your Thanksgiving dinner would have its perks, try not to invite that person who wants to tell you why their recipe for turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and... is so much better than your version.  Recipe advice is appreciated before but not during Thanksgiving dinner.

5. Your Brother's Ex-Girlfriend Whom You Still Adore

So your brother recently ended his relationship with (in your opinion) the greatest girl in the whole world. We know it's a tough decision, but Thanksgiving dinner is about family, try not to invite people that will make one of your family members uncomfortable.

6. The Really Really Distant Family Member

Thanksgiving is about gathering with your family and friends, but it isn't necessarily the best time to be reaching out to family members you barely know and haven't talked to in years. You never know what kind of surprises an invite like this might bring along with it.

7. The Self-taught Wine Expert

Wait this wine tastes like what with an undercurrent or hint of what exactly?? Knowing a great deal about wine is really interesting! What is not interesting is someone who doesn't really know a lot about wine but likes to talk about it as if they do.

8. The Long-Winded Toast-er

A touching speech can be like a work of art. However, this isn't a wedding (which only happens once).  For Thanksgiving keep it sweet and simple. Avoid inviting that person that wants to occupy 20 minutes of everyone's time with their tear filled oscar speech. . . sorry, we mean Thanksgiving toast.

9. The Extremely Picky Eater

These days, there are some very particular diets out there. If someone has a long list of what they can't eat, they may just be too hard to please. While everyone is entitled to control their diets and health, avoid inviting this person to your Thanksgiving dinner (if you can).

10. The Carnivore

Again, there are some very specific diet plans out there.  That guy who is on a meat only diet does not belong at your Thanksgiving dinner table. You only get to eat Turkey once maybe twice a year, you don't want one guy loading up and devouring it all.

11. The Person Who Never Forgets and Always Shares

You know this person, the one whose sole purpose in life seems to be to embarrass you.  They somehow always want to share your most humiliating stories and maybe even share the photos as proof.

12.  The Entourage Leader

We all have those friends who can't go anywhere without inviting their full phone's contact list.  Avoid inviting that person that can't go anywhere without inviting a few more people to join them.  Or if you must invite them, be clear about how many extra people you are able to host.
