Victoria Beckham To Auction Off $40,000 Wedding Tiara

Victoria Beckham, the famed singer and designer, plans to auction of her wedding tiara.

The former Spice Girl wore the glamorous tiara at her royal-themed wedding to soccer player, David Beckham on July 4th, 1999. It is said to be worth more than $40,000 and will be auctioned off at Bonhams on December 5th, where the accessory is expected to sell for between $29,000 and $40,000.

Slim Barret, legendary jewelry, designed made the gold and diamond tiara after Beckham asked him if he could design something for her wedding based on his "East of Paris" collection, which drew inspiration from Parisian haute couture and Eastern artistry.

Emily Barber, the director of Bonhams Jewellery Department in London explains the buzz surrounding the item, “Interest in the tiara is expected to be two-fold because it is designed by acclaimed jeweller, Slim Barrett, whose pieces rarely come up for sale at auction."

The fact that Victoria Beckham walked down the aisle in the tiara might also have something to do with the attention this sale has received.

After Beckham's wedding, the tiara appeared on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
