Scary Halloween Home Décor
Halloween is the one time of year where it's perfectly acceptable to decorate your home in a spooky, thrilling theme. But knowing where to start can be the difficult part! To create a home decor that's sure to scare, you don't have to spend too much or even work too hard. Continue reading to discover some of our best tips and ideas to easily transform your home into a ghoulish and creepy space.
Prepare Your Pumpkins
Carving pumpkins are a must when it comes to Halloween decor, but that doesn't mean they are necessarily always scary. If you want to pull off a spookier look this year, start with your pumpkins. Instead of carving standard shapes and face, aim for a fright by creating the creepiest faces you can.
Another easy and inexpensive way to add some extra scare to your home is by dressing it head to toe in fake spiderwebs. Purchase large cotton balls at your local craft store, pull them apart so they become string-like and wrap around places in your home like your banister and windowsills.
Set the Mood
One of the simplest ways to create a scary atmosphere in your home this Halloween is by lighting. Choose orange and black candle holders and place them strategically around your house. Be extra careful when lighting candles, however. If you have little ones in the house, opt for electronic candles instead.
Choose Black, Purple and Orange
For things like tablecloths, throw rugs and picture frames, choose darker colors for the month of Halloween. It's a quick way to make any room a little creepier -- and doesn't cost a lot!
Keep it Fun!
Even though you're trying to pull off a scarier home this season, be sure to keep your space somewhat inviting. Place candy dishes with seasonal treats like candy corn around your house to let guests know you're just getting into the holiday.
